Question:
Which BoatSafe® heater is right for me?
Answer:
Due to variations in engine compartments, bilge equipment and geographic location, some boats may require a larger or an additional bilge heater. In climates with extreme temperature variations, a bilge heater may extend your boating season, but it will NOT replace proper winterizing of your boat. For additional information, consult your marine accessories dealer or BoatSafe, Inc. for recommendations specific to your boat and climate.
Question:
Which type marine power plants does your bilge heater protect?
Answer:
BoatSafe heaters protect enclosed spaces, so Inboard, Inboard/Outboard and Generators (and their components) are protected. Keeping wind off of external metal parts with a cover can greatly enhance your bilge heaters effectiveness by stopping the cold conductive temperatures. BoatSafe heaters can not provide protective heat for outboard engines.
Question:
How do I test my heater besides the Push to Test button/
Answer:
The tool of the trade: Freeze Spray. If you can’t find Freeze Spray use Dust Off or Air Duster or any of the keyboard cleaning products available at WalMart, Office Depot or Radio Shack. With the air duster products you hold the can upside down and spray the temperature sensor 3 times.
You can even use Poop Freeze from Petsmart or Amazon !
